Humboldt hideaway is a small intimate SHARED space with residents. The outdoor kitchen, deck with a view, and campfire ring are all connected to the main resident house. There are places of seclusion, but much of it is shared outdoor space. Humboldt Hideaway is a small off-the-grid LGBTQ+ queer land project in Northern California. It is place on 12 acres of hilly terrain in the mixed fir and oak woods of Humboldt County, a half-hour east of Arcata. Back in , when it was established, it was undeveloped with nothing on it. It has since been built up with the scrappy efforts of amateur artistic dreamers. We are a campground and retreat center located in the High Desert proximate Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California.

Our facility provides tent camping, secret cabins, and soggy and dry RV sites.

What sets us apart from other camping and retreat centers is that we openly welcome those who might be or are sexually fluid and/or LGBT+, and those who might just need a place to come where you can unwind, be yourself, and leave your worries behind.

Camp Stevens

We are very fortunate to notify Camp Stevens dwelling to our annual summer retreat. Camp Stevens is situated on acres of pine-oak woodland, offering scenic overlooks and miles of hiking trails. The central campus is easily walkable, and features a large lawn, pool, and volleyball court. Within a short walk of the central campus, you’ll find hiking trails, an outdoor chapel, labyrinth, wood house, woodburning cob oven, chicken coop, orchard, and two gardens.

The Dining Hall is located in the middle of the main camp area and can accommodate up to guests comfortably. Tables seat up to 10 persons each. Meals are served family-style and as much food as feasible comes from the Camp Stevens gardens, is locally grown or is adj. It is lovingly prepared by their kitchen staff.
